The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the largest volcanic caldera in the world and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. It is almost 20 km wide, about 600 m deep and is known for its wide variety of wildlife. In addition to Big Five viewing (rhinos, leopards, lions, buffaloes and elephants), various sources attract animals like wildebeests, gazelles, reed kobs and countless species of birds.
The Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most important protected areas in Africa, with a diverse ecosystem, which boasts of being home to 2 to 3 million wild animals. It is beautifully located with lakes, meadows, swamps and forests on the escarpment, which give an impressive panoramic view of the animals and landscape.
