Lake Manyara is a shallow alkaline lake located at the base of the western part of the Rift Valley escarpment. In the deeper parts of the lake, small groups of hippos bask in the sun. Around the lake is the national park that you will discover. It is especially beautiful with grassy floodplains, groundwater forests, acacia forests.
The wildlife in Lake Manyara Park has an excellent density of animals and is perhaps best known for its tree-climbing lions, which are often found lounging in the branches of sausage trees. There are large flocks of baboons and blue monkeys, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, giraffes and zebras, as well as a host of small animals and different species of birds.
