Day one

Rongai Gate to Camp Caves
DISTANCE approx. Hiking Time: 5 Hours | Distance: 8 km

After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up from Arusha (1400m) and driven to Marangu gate (1980m). The car will take you to Rongai trailhead (2.5 hours by car). The trail starts in tall corn fields and then leads into a pine forest. This trail has a gradual ascent and allows hikers to enjoy their surroundings. Overnight at Cave Camp Meals: Lunch and dinner together

Day two

Cave Camp to Kikelua Cave
DISTANCE approx. Hiking Time: 3-4 hours | Distance: 6 km

Following a hot breakfast, travelers will continue to climb to the Kikelewa cave (3600 meters). The route passes the second cave (3450m) and this is a good place to take a lunch break. Just like the first night, your tents will be set up before you arrive at the camp and the porters will provide you with water to drink and wash. Prepare for chilly nights as temperatures drop below freezing at this outdoor campsite.

Day Three

Kikelua Cave to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
DISTANCE approx. hiking Time: 3-4 hours | Distance: 5 km

On this day, hikers will enjoy a short, but steep trek to Mawenzi tarn camp (4330 m). In the moorland, you will see exotic plants, including giant lobelia and groundsel. In the camp, travelers will enjoy spectacular views and let their bodies agree. A hot dinner and water for washing will be prepared for the travelers as they enjoy the sunset. Overnight at Mawenzi Tarn Camp Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Together

Day Four

Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut
DISTANCE approx. Hiking Time: 4-5 hours | Distance: 8 km

After breakfast, travelers will continue to climb east for a half-day trip to kibo kiba. Kibo is in the saddle which refers to the area between the mountain peaks and the kibo in the alpine desert. An early dinner will be served so travelers can rest before attempting the summit at night. Your guide will explain in detail how to prepare for the climax night. Sleep at 19:00! Overnight at Kibo Hut

Day five

Kibo Hut to Summit, down to Horombo Hut
DISTANCE approx. hiking Time: 6-8 hours | Distance: 7 km

Starting early, you will leave at midnight for the summit. Take the rocky path to Gillmans Point at 5681 meters, located on the rim of the crater. This section is very steep and rocky and is the most demanding part of the trail. From Gillman's Point we walk for another two hours to Uhuru Peak (5895 m), the highest point in Africa. You have succeeded! We enjoy a short time on the Roof of Africa before starting our descent.

Day Six

Horombo Hut to Marangu
DISTANCE approx. Descending Time: 5-7 hours | Distance: 18 km

Retrace your steps through the rainforest to the Marangu gate to meet the company car and receive your summit certificates courtesy of the Kilimanjaro National Park Authority. After that you will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
